About this community event

Join us for 2.5 hours of invitations into the More Than Human World.

This is an opportunity to deepen your connection to self, nature and community through a practice commonly known as Forest Bathing.  As a guide, I offer sensory invitations and somatic inquiries to facilitate an immersive ecological experience.  Forest Bathing has many evidence-based health benefits, but one of the most profound aspects of this practice is that it fosters a direct relationship with the More Than Human World.

“Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond.”

Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants

I try to create accessibility for all of my offerings at suggested tiers of pricing. For the appropriate payment tier, please refer to the guidelines here, and FAQ's can be found here.

Tier One:

If it’s a struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, child care etc and/or you live paycheck to paycheck/are in significant debt, this option is for you.  You deserve a community that honours your price as an equal economic offering as the person who can pay the highest tier.

Middle Tier/True Cost:

If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and don’t spend most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs, this is your range.

Pay it Forward:

If you are financially secure, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services. If you are able to afford "wants" and spend little time worrying about securing necessities in your life, you have economic privilege and power in our community.  Your extra contribution helps cover the cost of those in the lower tier.

Please bring:

  • your own water and water bottle
  • comfortable walking shoes, and please use your best judgement - if it's wet, wear boots and proper rain gear
  • It’s often much cooler in the forest, please wear layers
  • Much of our time will be contemplative and seated. I have some camp stools available, but they are limited in number, if you have a stadium seat or preferred chair, please bring it along (knowing you will be carrying it a short distance)

Some guidelines, details, and gentle reminders:

  • This is not a hike. We will take a slow wander into the forest only about a 1/2 mile.  Terrain can vary, but this is not at all considered a strenuous activity, if you have specific mobility requirements, please contact me directly.
  • This practice requires open, attentive awareness on your own experience - because kids & dogs require much of our attention please leave your children (under 13) & pets (except service animals) at home.
  • This is not psychotherapy, a naturalist walk, or a bath (there is no instructed immersion into water)

See you soon.

Love,

Jolene
